Chevrolet released the SS between 2013 and 2018, a USA version of Australia’s Holden Commodore, fully imported from Australia. The hot Chevrolet is standard with the powerful 6.2 liter V8, Brembo brakes, and the option of either automatic or manual transmissions.
Chevrolet SS is mostly identical to the Pontiac G8 and GTO, both these were also fully imported Holdens in the USA and it’s now common for owners of these beasts to change over the Pontiac or Chevrolet badges and replace them with the Australian Holden lion badge.
Future classic considerations are strong with these thoroughbreds. The Australian Holden Commodore is proven in tough daily driving conditions, and there is a huge history of road racing testing lasting decades. It is a highly refined sports sedan with a huge 415 horse power and 415 lb feet of torque. The body is tight and strong in severe cornering speeds, and the rear wheel drive offers optimum grip for a two wheel drive sports sedan.
These are no longer in production. Holden has closed production in Australia, and no more Chevrolet SS will be available. Now is the time to add this mild-mannered racer to your collection.
